Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and CSX Corp. Acquire Rail Assets from Genesee & Wyoming


Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and CSX Corp. have reached an agreement to purchase additional rail assets, creating a direct interchange connection between CPKC and CSX in Alabama. This deal establishes a corridor that links Mexico, Texas, and the U.S. Southeast, furthering Canadian Pacific's strategy of creating a unified network of international rail lines spanning North America. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it involves CPKC acquiring and operating a segment of the Meridian & Bigbee Railroad, while CSX would operate the lines currently leased by the railroad.
