Train in Southern California Derails Following Collision with Truck: 198 Passengers Aboard


An Amtrak train carrying nearly 200 passengers derailed in Southern California after colliding with a county water truck, leaving the truck's driver critically injured. Three of the train's seven cars went off the tracks, but remained upright, while fourteen train passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospitals. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
