The initiative will coincide with the opening of the Atwater Merced Expressway and is expected to benefit agricultural exporters in the Central Valley by providing a regular rail service to San Pedro Bay. The project will utilize rail connections from BNSF Railway and Union Pacific, enhancing transportation options for Central Valley shippers seeking access to international markets.
