Winter Storm Blankets Interior Northeast, Triggers Fatal Accident and Cold Snap


Significant winter weather struck the interior Northeast, leading to hazardous road conditions and a fatal accident. Over the past two days, more than 40 inches of snowfall, primarily from lake-effect snow, affected parts of the Great Lakes and interior Northeast. Although most snow warnings expired, some scattered snow showers persisted in the Great Lakes region, with 1 to 2 inches of snow still possible. The severe weather also brought cold temperatures to the East Coast, including Florida, with a fatal bus accident reported in Killington, Vermont.
