Southern California Braces for First Major Storm of the Season, Bringing Unusual Rainfall

The first significant storm of the season is set to hit Southern California midweek, bringing cooler temperatures and 1 to 2 inches of rain over multiple days, which is unusual for this time of year. The storm is expected to last from Wednesday through Saturday, with a steady but not extreme intensity of rain. This rainfall is seen as beneficial in delaying severe fire weather conditions, and while foothill and mountain areas may receive more rain, significant debris flow or flash flooding is not expected. In the Bay Area, 1 to 3 inches of intermittent rain are predicted throughout the week, with coastal areas possibly experiencing rain as early as Monday night.
