United Airlines now offers Touchless ID technology for TSA PreCheck members at Chicago's O'Hare and Los Angeles international airports, simplifying the security process. By scanning their faces, passengers can breeze through security without showing physical IDs or boarding passes. To enroll, travelers scan their passports and add their Known Traveler Numbers in the United app, then opt-in during mobile check-in.

Currently available for single-passenger reservations for those 18 and older, the technology is expanding to more airport features. Delta Air Lines already employs similar tech in Atlanta, Detroit, and New York. Clint Henderson of The Points Guy noted dedicated lanes for biometric check-ins at Delta hubs. The Department of Homeland Security is testing self-service screening options at select airports. TSA emphasizes limited image retention for testing purposes only.
