Supply chain workforce retention is based on hiring for careers, not just jobs

Supply chain workers are tired of jobs: they want careers, instead. A job is a specific role or task that you perform in exchange for payment. It can be a stepping stone on your career path or it can be a way to earn income while you pursue other goals or interests. A career is a long-term professional path that you choose to pursue. It often involves setting goals, building skills, and gaining experience in a particular field or industry. A career typically requires a significant amount of education, training, and/or work experience, and it often involves a certain level of advancement or advancement opportunities.

Hiring and retaining supply chain workers in the office, behind the wheel, and in the warehouse has been a struggle for many years. Organizations will need to reassess how they offer positions to workers in a post-Covid labor force. Low wages, long hours, and little room for growth will no longer make the cut.
