UCLA proposes traffic strategy for the benefit of low-income Californians
Good morning! Happy Wednesday.
We’ve still got some people hanging in the lobby at the IANA EXPO in Long Beach, California - if you see them, make sure you say hello!
But in other news… the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies has proposed a strategy to help reduce the amount of traffic congestion that clogs the freeways of Los Angeles. “Vulnerable” residents - or those who bring home $55,500 or less for a family of four - tend to be stuck on those congested freeways for the most amount of time.
Check out today’s featured article from its.ucla.edu article to read about the strategy proposed by UCLA Transportation to improve traffic conditions in congested Los Angeles for its low-income residents. ☕️

Toyota puzzles environmentalists and rivals by not investing as heavily in electric vehicles
The world’s largest automaker, Toyota, isn’t buying all-in into the electric vehicle push. Some environmentalist groups are criticizing the manufacturer for not investing more in electric car technology but the company has advised that it will take more than an electric car to make a more sustainable future.
Toyota’s rivals plan to exclusively offer electric vehicle options, while Toyota is projecting a third of its current sales by 2030.

🤝 Getting humanitarian popular again. The logistics sector will no longer take a blind eye to humanitarian efforts as a paradigm shift takes place in the culture. The world is complex and highly interconnected and that has never been made as clear as it has after Covid-19 infected the world. (knowledge.instead.edu)
More to consider…
Not every company is making you pay for inflationary changes. While the government has pointed to several factors for the blame of inflation, including price gouging by food manufacturers, the truth seems to be much different. The reality is that food manufacturers are mostly absorbing the exorbitant costs, of rising prices in the grocery aisles. (Supply Chain Dive)
Bring on the heat! … or not. The western United States has suffered a heat wave over the last week, leaving many crops damaged and shipments delayed. The grocery stores can expect some shortages over the next few weeks due to the supply chain hiccup. (Supply Chain Brain)
Inflation is still through the roof. Regardless of a slight slowdown of the rapidly rising inflation last month, August still remained higher than the month previous. (AP News)
