Speaking of warehousing … the competition is heating up among the largest warehouse employers. Urban locations are the future of the industry as the warehouse juggernauts are looking to better provide easy access to their customers.

✈️ Singapore air travel is reaching pre-Covid levels despite the strict travel restrictions for Chinese citizens. In 2019 alone, approximately 3.6 million residents of China visited Singapore, which makes up 13% of the country’s travelers. Singapore’s Transport Minister S. Iswaran that the growing tourism provides new areas of growth and opportunity for the country.

🇨🇳 China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy has commissioned another semi-submersible transport ship. The official China Military Online website unveiled photographs of a “semi-submersible heavy ship” hauling a Type 958 air-cushioned landing craft over water. While most details are unknown, the U.S. Navy’s Office of Naval Intelligence has referred to the model as a “Modified Hansa Sonderberg class”.

📦 UPS and IndiGo’s founder has partnered up to tackle logistics issues. The largest shareholder of IndiGo, India’s largest airline, has joined UPS Inc. in order to tackle a piece of India’s growing logistics sector. In an earnings call May 25, IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta ensured that the arrangement is separate from the airline itself.


Sanctioned Russian oil is being transported to China via small ships

According to Bloomberg, Chinese customers of sanctioned Russian oil are shuttling small ships across the sea to get their goods. The ship-to-ship transfers of the oil are risky business as owners of these ships are becoming more disdainful toward Russian products.

Oil tanker availability has plummeted because of the sanctions against Russian oil.

Illegally transported Louisiana modular home dragged through neighborhood

Sheriff’s deputies were called out to Louisiana’s Iberia parish, near Lafayette, at 3:30 am to respond to a 911 call reporting an illegal transport of a modular house. The sheriff’s statement says that they arrived at an abandoned truck, trailer, and house in the middle of the street.

The owner of the house, Tony Domingue, was apparently made aware previously that he could not transport the house without the proper permits. Police arrested Domingue and his accomplice, Nico Comeaux - they were held on a bond of $125,000 each.
