California DMV launches lawsuit against EV-maker Tesla over AI marketing claims

Good morning! It’s National Waffle Day & you better celebrate later if you haven’t already. 🧇

But in other news… the anticipation behind the Tesla Semi has been pretty extreme. But California is pumping the brakes.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that the Tesla Semis should be shipped to carriers later this year, but after the latest news… they may likely have their self-driving capabilities removed. New York is desperate to avoid a gasoline shortage

The Jones Act is a 100-year-old shipping law that requires all goods moved between American ports to be transported on domestic ships, and those happen to be some of the most expensive. New York, in desperation to avoid a gasoline shortage as its inventories deplete, is willing to pay those premiums. Currently, New York reserves are at their lowest since record-keeping of them began three decades ago.

American-built ships are heading to the New York Harbor region from Louisiana and Texas, full to the brim with gasoline.
