Tractor-trailer aerodynamics improved with fairings on 50% of new trucks

🚛 💨 The aerodynamics of trucks is essential.

Trucks create ample airflow behind them as they billow down the highway, and manufacturers are working on perfecting the sleekest and most effective design for Class 8 tractor-trailers. Fairings, or side skirts, are large flaps added to the back of the trailer and help carriers save on fuel costs. It is estimated that about 50% of new trailers have side skirts.
