New U.S. export requirements set for chip exports to China and Russia

Some of the largest chipmakers are vocalizing a major issue - new U.S. government requirements for licenses, effective immediately, for the sale of AI chips to China and Russia. This new policy is said to be in order to avoid military end use by the two countries, but manufacturers like Nvidia and AMD are projecting major losses of revenue with this new rule.

Beef processing plant joins forces with retailer Walmart

The price of meat has gone through the roof, and Walmart is hoping to ease that inflationary pain of its customers. The mega-retailer has invested in Sustainable Beef, a Nebraska beef processing plant. The partnership is meant to keep Walmart’s meat aisle well-stocked as the holiday season approaches.

Walmart, well-known for managing its own logistics and transportation, also has one of the largest private fleets in the country. The partnership will utilize Walmart’s trucks, giving them a leg up on the competition.

40,000 additional UK rail workers join national labor strike

The United Kingdom’s unionized rail workers are taking a stand against what they deem as unfair pay and reform issues in the rail network. The National Union of Rail, Maritime, and Transport Workers has announced walkouts on September 15th and 17th at fourteen separate train companies. An additional 40,000 rail workers have decided to join in the walkout.

The inflation rate in the UK is now in the double digits and is expected to hit 22% next year.
