Canadian truckers receive no apology from Trudeau over controversial convoy response

In early 2022, truckers around Canada decided they had had enough. Ottawa, Canada became the epicenter of a massive protest that led the country’s prime minister into an unprecedented move that shut down the movement entirely - freezing the bank accounts of protestors, banning travel to the sites of the protest, and forcing tow trucks to remove any vehicles that were blocking streets in the capitol.
At a public hearing this week regarding the debacle, Trudeau stood by his decision - stating that if he had not made the call to disperse the protestors through these means, someone would have been hurt.

🛢️ Capping Russia’s oil exports in an attempt to nail Moscow’s military budget. That’s the latest way Western companies are punishing Russia for its invasion of Ukraine - making way to limit its fossil fuel earnings. Set to take effect on December 5th, the cap on Moscow’s oil price will also result on the same day of the European Union’s boycott of Russian oil. It’s uncertain what both measures will do in terms of the price of oil overall, as the moves also are in line with lower demand and a slowing economy.
