💰 Tesla, Cadillac, and Rivian have raised the prices of their electric vehicles. The price tag for anything electric-powered has increased over the last several months, and experts in the industry are predicting that the prices will continue to rise for quite some time. The increased cost of supplies has the manufacturers passing those costs along to customers, but some carmakers are trying to keep the price of their vehicles as low as possible. It’s only a question of how long they can hold, at this point.

🔋 Hyundai Motor is launching itself into the electric battery business. The company announced its plans last week to invest $5.54 billion into electric vehicle and battery manufacturing plants on U.S. soil. With the expected implementation to be early 2025, they will aim to manufacture 300,000 vehicles right off the bat. This move is the latest in a stream of international automobile makers pushing to insert American'-centric manufacturing plants for electric vehicle components.

📷 Amazon’s UK arm is installing AI-operated cameras in their delivery vans to monitor drivers. Privacy advocates are claiming the move is extremely invasive and excessive for monitoring purposes. These cameras were already rolled out in the US market last year.


Plastic polluting companies aim to modify packaging practices

Many companies are focusing on reducing their carbon footprint and a great way to start is by reducing plastic in packaging.

Interestingly, only 3/10 of the top leaders in “plastic packaging sustainability” are North American-based, according to a global collaboration platform called Ubuntoo. The world’s largest plastic polluters are being uncovered, and many are scrambling to make sure they get out ahead of any scathing scandals.

Global agriculture supply chain is exposed to cyber threats

While the latest tech is being implemented in farms across the world, hackers lie in wait to cause chaos in AI-operated machinery.

The University of Cambridge recently released a report that robotics in agriculture are exposed to cyber threats. Experts warn that protecting customers and data should be of top priority. Large companies like John Deere are aiming to better protect their machinery from hackers.
