Good morning, Friday warriors. Ready for the weekend? 😎
Chances are, most readers have made an Amazon order this past week at some point. But how many received their orders via drone? Well, delivery drones were discussed frequently amongst technology news outlets a few years ago, when big companies announced ambitious plans for AI-controlled final-mile deliveries. However, the logistics of the matter are a little more complicated.
Check out today’s featured article from Supply Chain Brain for a detailed analysis of why Amazon delivery drones aren’t as practical as they were originally made out to be. ☕️

Are speed limiters the final straw for truckers?
Driver retention has been one of the main issues for the U.S. Department of Transportation and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to tackle over recent years.
Larger carriers typically have a turnover rate of 90%+ and the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association says that low wages and overregulation are some of the largest reasons drivers flee.
