Good morning, from our workspace to yours. 🗓

The national average price for diesel is hanging tight to that $5.50 average, but it is the third straight week it’s dropped… juuuuuuuust slightly. The month of May rounded off at an average of $5.54 per gallon, dropping 3.2 cents from the previous week, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. However, the good ol’ West Coast saw a hike of 5.3 cents, in comparison.

Check out today’s featured article from Overdrive Online for the regional prices of diesel and what can be expected over the coming weeks when you pull up to the pump. ☕️

New Mexico-Texas interstate designation introduces an exciting freight corridor

President Joe Biden unveiled the Ports-to-Plaints Corridor plan back on March 15, and the departments of transportation in both New Mexico and Texas have been excitedly eyeing its progress, hoping to extend several roadways in their states. The Ports-to-Plans project is intended to designate an entirely new roadway interstate, something that has been sought since 1998.

A new freight corridor is intended to create less congested options to facilitate trade between Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. A whopping $96 billion in exports is handled between corridor states like Texas and New Mexico.
