🌎 $7.7 Trillion is the total global trade value in 2022 Q1 - an increase of $1 Trillion compared to 2021 Q1. This growth is spurned by growing commodity prices among inflation concerns and is expected to slow substantially in the 2022 Q2 findings. Rising interest rates and dwindling stimulus packages provided by the government are also likely to have a reversal of effect on global economies in the latter part of 2022.

🇺🇸 The U.S. trade gap has shrunk to its smallest in 2022 among goods and services. The shrinkage comes in light of a pickup in exports and has elevated the second-quarter gross domestic product. Oil, industrial supplies, and consumer goods were shipped abroad in record amounts in May.

🇮🇩 Indonesia’s logistics industry is getting reformed with the digital start-up platform called McEasy. McEasy is a software solution for companies in the industry who are looking to track and organize everything from passenger buses to freight forwarding services. The start-up, founded in 2017, already serves more than 200 clients.


Amazon’s European push for ‘Buy Local’ feature is a huge win for local sourcing

While many want to invest in local businesses, they aren’t sure where to start. Enter: Amazon Business’ “Buy Local” feature.

The free feature has now launched successfully on the online e-commerce site in the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany. The purpose of the feature is to promote local businesses and empower chief procurement officers to shop smarter. Procurement is a strategy used by organizations to better strengthen their communities.
