Truck Driver Charged with Homicide After 15-Year-Old Student's Tragic Death at School Bus Stop


A 41-year-old truck driver, Gregory Jackson, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide in connection with the death of a 15-year-old Livingston ISD student who was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler as he was getting off a school bus. The incident occurred on U.S. 59 north of Livingston, Texas, when the school bus had stopped with its lights flashing and the stop sign extended to unload the student. The student died at the scene, while both the 18-wheeler driver and the Toyota driver involved were unharmed. Livingston ISD expressed condolences for the loss of the student and provided counseling support for students and staff.
