Russia Accused of Orchestrating Migrant Surge at EU's Eastern Frontier, Prompting Border Closure Threats


Estonia's foreign minister, Margus Tsahkna, has accused Moscow of orchestrating a "blatant hybrid attack" by facilitating a surge in migrants from Africa and the Middle East arriving at the EU's eastern frontier. He warned that Estonia is prepared to close its border with Russia if the situation continues, emphasizing that it demonstrates Russia's threat to other countries beyond Ukraine. The crisis has also affected Finland, leading them to close checkpoints with Russia due to concerns about Moscow's influence activity and its role in stoking a migrant crisis in retaliation for Finland's decision to join NATO.
