Large Methamphetamine Seizure at U.S.-Mexico Border Highlights Ongoing Smuggling Efforts


U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 354 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the bed of a pickup truck crossing the border from Mexico into the United States at the Paso Del Norte international crossing. The drugs were discovered during an inspection, with the assistance of a drug-sniffing dog, and led to the arrest of a 31-year-old Mexican woman. This seizure is part of ongoing efforts to thwart smuggling attempts involving large quantities of illegal drugs at various points along the U.S.-Mexico border.
