Survey Reveals Average Income Levels for Financial Security and Feeling Rich in the US, While Many Struggle with Financial Insecurity

Survey results from Bankrate reveal that the average amount needed by US adults to feel financially secure is $233,000 per year, while $483,000 per year is the average amount required to feel rich or achieve financial freedom. However, these figures vary depending on personal experiences, perceptions, financial situation, and individual priorities.

The survey also highlighted that 72% of respondents currently do not feel financially secure, with reasons including high inflation, economic conditions, inadequate savings, and low pay. To improve financial health, individuals are encouraged to focus on paying off credit card debt, maximizing employer benefits, triaging bills during difficult times, seeking better job opportunities, and aligning spending with personal values.
