Data Quality Crucial for Managing Scope 3 Emissions, Says SAP Executive


According to Gunther Rothermel, SVP & Head of Sustainability Engineering at SAP, data quality is of utmost importance when managing Scope 3 emissions. Rothermel emphasizes the need for accurate and reliable data to effectively measure and reduce emissions throughout the supply chain. He highlights that without access to relevant and usable data, companies cannot make informed decisions or effectively reduce their carbon footprints, particularly as Scope 3 emissions contribute significantly to a company's overall carbon footprint. SAP has recently launched SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, a solution designed to calculate and manage carbon flows across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 at various levels of granularity.
