Truck parking & loading areas important for driver safety

Irving, Texas-based trucking company Tarango Trucking won in a federal appeals court after a Fifth Circuit panel ruled that the company’s insurance company, Penn-America Insurance, must defend its client in a wrongful death lawsuit.

A driver for a separate company was killed on the property of Taranto Trucking after the driver’s truck rolled backwards, crushing him. According to the lawsuit filed in a Texas state court, the truck parking lot was “maintained at a dangerous slope,” which resulted in the truck to rolling backwards without warning.
