California Transportation Commission Approves $42 Million Grant for Port of Oakland's Green Power Microgrid Project


The California Transportation Commission (CTC) has granted $42 million to the Port of Oakland for its Green Power Microgrid Project. This project will significantly enhance the Port's capacity to deliver green energy to its seaport operations, bringing it closer to achieving its zero emissions target. The project includes the installation of heavy-duty electrical chargers, solar generation infrastructure, battery energy storage systems, and substation upgrades, allowing for increased capacity of zero-emissions vehicles and providing backup power during regional outages.
